Sample supply list
I prefer working in oils because my mixture will stay wet for the class. Acrylic will dry quickly so you will need to keep them wet with water or a retarder. Also you will not need the brush cleaner as you will use water instead. Bring reference materials to work from. Can be photos, magazines, art that inspires you, drawings, etc… Can be digital. Tablet or phone.
Please use the pigment codes for the yellow, blue and red an not the names. No mixtures, make sure only one pigment code is listed on the paint. You can use any brand as long as the pigment code is correct.
Hansa Yellow Light PY3, Cad Yellow Light PY35- pick one. Can use the Cad Light Hue
Permanent Rose PV19
Phtalo blue PB15
Titanium White
Yellow Ochre or raw Sienna
Sap Green
Any other colors you would like.
A starter brush package with a mix of bristle and soft brushes. See photos below
Canvas, panel or paper to paint on.
Paper towels for cleaning brushes and hands. Please bring - you are going to need them.
Palette to mix paint. No cups please, a large, flat surface.16 x 20 or 20 x 24. It can be plexi glass, board or disposable palette paper.
Palette knife to mix paint and paint with.
Brush cleaner - I use Chroma Archival oils odorless solvent. You can also use Gamsol or Turpenoid. A large container.
Sealed container to clean brushes. I use a Silicoil Brush Cleaning Tank. Not needed if using acrylics.
Small bar of soap to clean brushes after painting.
Sketch book and pencil
There are no make up days for missed classes. No refunds for gift certificates. All gift certificates must be used within 6 month from purchase. There is a 25.00 fee for any scheduled private lesson that is not cancelled 48 hours in advance.
