Painting out in the open can be exhilarating, but it can also be overwhelming in the beginning. What kind of equipment do I need? How do I set up? What do I take? How do I negotiate the ever-changing landscape?
The very things that make plein air paintings so lively are the very things that can make it such a challenge. In this course we will break it down into easy to manage steps. We will address things like traveling with paints and paintings, how to set up your equipment, simple color palette, the importance of value, and finding your focal point and more!
We will start indoors, cover how to start, and then move outside to capture the landscape. I will have several different types of easels and will cover each type of set up. Bring all of your paints and brushes and easels if you have one. I will have several easels available if you need one.
